Paul Shinerock or ‘Shiners’ to his friends, is more than just the leader at Shinerocks Estate Agents; he’s the driving force behind the firm’s long-standing reputation for excellence. With a career that feels like it’s been “forever,” Paul’s passion for the property industry has never wavered. He thrives on the thrill of closing deals and navigating the ever-changing market with a mix of determination and wit.
A typical day for Paul can range from tackling the mundane to riding a wave of exciting highs - it’s all part of the job. Over the years, he’s not only made his mark in property but also raised significant funds for charity alongside friends. When asked what sets him apart, Paul’s answer is simple: he knows ‘everything’ (mainly property-related) and is always there for his team.
Outside the office, Paul’s interests reflect a love for life’s finer things - cooking, savouring great wine, and working on his golf game (a journey of 60 years and counting). A former fashion industry agent and designer, he muses about what life could have been like if he “ran the world” - a world, notably, with no mobile phones for kids or dishwashing machines!
Paul dreams of the sunny mountains of Spain, where he already owns a beautiful home. If given the chance, he’d sit down for a dinner chat with Nostradamus - provided there’s a translator on hand to decode the cryptic prophecies of course! Quirky, wise, and always up for a challenge, Paul is truly the heart of Shinerocks Estate Agents.
With a mix of expertise, charm, and a touch of humour, Paul leads Shinerocks with passion and purpose every step of the way.
Joanne, affectionately known as “Jo” (other nicknames, if they exist, are kept under wraps), has been an integral part of Shinerocks since 1995. She stumbled into the property industry through temping, but quickly found her passion and made it her own. Jo’s role covers, in her own words, “anything and everything,” which she handles with the expertise that only decades of experience and a perfectly calm nature can bring.
Meeting people is Jo’s favourite part of the job, and her typical day involves managing countless tasks, often behind the scenes. With her dressage riding talent, she brings a touch of grace and discipline to even the busiest days.
Outside work, Jo’s dream home would be located “somewhere magical,” and she would love to have dinner with A.A. Milne for a chat about the timeless charm of Winnie-the-Pooh. She’s a fan of black tea, loves both cats and dogs, but strongly opposes pineapple on pizza!
With a blend of wisdom and wit, Jo keeps the Shinerocks engine running smoothly.
Naza joined Shinerocks on 27th July 2024, bringing confidence, persuasion, and a passion for property to the team. Her love for the industry began at just 15 when she took the lead in helping her parents find and purchase their new home, impressing everyone with her critical eye and decisive nature. She even managed the viewings for her family’s own home sale – proof that she was destined for this role.
Interestingly, Naza’s parents bought their current home through Shinerocks, making her decision to join the team feel like a natural fit. She thrives on the energy of the property world, loves meeting new people, and jumps at the chance to help clients buy and sell dream homes.
Her morning commute may start with some reluctance, but once she’s in the office, Naza embraces the hustle, kicking things off with an avocado coffee! She’s proud of her professional milestones, including earning the Guild Sales Associate membership and securing her first instruction. Naza’s skill set includes persuasive communication, a natural flair for sales, and a genuine connection with clients.
Outside the office, she enjoys exploring sky bars, salsa dancing, and living life at full throttle (where the speed cameras can’t catch her). Naza’s drive, expertise, and boundless energy ensure that every deal gets the attention it deserves.
Jasmine joined Shinerocks on 14th September 2024 and went full-time in October. Her boldness and enthusiasm for the industry stood out immediately – she even approached Shinerocks directly to secure her position! With a background in customer service and a keen interest in property, Jasmine is already making waves and proving to be a valuable asset.
Her favourite part of the job? Listening to Paul’s “interesting” phone conversations that bring laughter and lessons in equal measure!
A typical day for Jasmine involves navigating the challenges of Purley Cross traffic, grabbing her essential iced caramel latte, and immersing herself in viewings, valuations, and the endless energy of the office.
She’s proud of the client praise she’s already received, with one person even commenting that they couldn’t tell she was a trainee. Jasmine’s eagerness to learn and fearless attitude are helping her develop into an exceptional estate agent.
Outside work, Jasmine dreams of living in a pink townhouse in Primrose Hill. A former child model prospect, she often wonders what might have been. And while she’s firmly against pineapple on pizza, sweetcorn is an entirely different story.
With her youth, tenacity, and refreshing outlook, Jasmine is ready to make her mark on the property world, one iced caramel latte at a time!
Leon may be Shinerocks’ fluffiest member, but his contributions are far from trivial. With nearly nine years under his belt as Operations Manager, Leon is a steadying presence and a natural leader. Born to be in the property industry (in his own words), Leon’s daily responsibilities revolve around “Meet, Greet & Eat,” which he executes flawlessly. Visitors to the office should bring bacon or chicken-flavoured snacks as he prefers these flavours over any others!
Leon’s ability to keep the team calm and grounded is one of his greatest skills, and he’s well-known for his eye-catching stares that some might even call hypnotic. Just try looking into those big brown eyes without feeling the love!
In his free time, Leon enjoys eating, walking, and “lots of sniffing and licking.” If he weren’t in property, he might have followed in his very successful parents’ pawsteps as a Crufts Champion.
Like Paul, Leon dreams of living in Spain, where he could enjoy warm weather, and mountain walks all year round. Leon’s loyalty, warmth, and fluffy charm make him an irreplaceable member of the Shinerocks team.
